About the film
After the death of his wife, acclaimed film director Gustav returns to Oslo. His two daughters however aren't eager to welcome him back in their lives, since he's been largely absent during his career. Gustav is seeking forgiveness and offers his eldest daughter, Nora, the lead role in his new film. But father and daughter are cut from the same cloth: successful in their work, incapable when it comes to expressing their true feelings.
‘Sentimental Value’ is the new film by Joachim Trier ('The Worst Person in the World'), once again starring Renate Reinsve. For her heartbreaking role in'the Worst Person in the World', she won her first Oscar. Earlier this year, ‘Sentimental Value’ film won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. It’s Norway's submission for the Academy Awards.
